The APSIC Environmental Hygiene Excellence Award celebrates healthcare institutions that demonstrate exceptional leadership and measurable success in maintaining safe environments. Hygiene is a critical step toward safeguarding patient lives.

One of the core components in the infection prevention and control programme is appropriate environmental hygiene practices and protocols. These facilitate practices related to the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections. It is the responsibility of healthcare care institutions to ensure a safe physical hygiene environment.

Hospitals and healthcare institutions across the Asia Pacific region are eligible to apply. Participation is open to institutions at various stages of environmental hygiene development.
The programme aims to: acknowledge excellence in environmental hygiene, encourage participation and evaluation, provide a platform for benchmarking and recognition.
Participation in the Award Programme is generally not associated with a monetary prize or participation fee. Any specific requirements will be communicated during the registration phase.
Submissions will be assessed based on: commitment to infection prevention and environmental hygiene practices, innovation and sustainability, impact on patient safety and infection prevention.
The APSIC Expert Panel reviews all submitted applications using a structured scoring system and shortlists institutions that demonstrate excellence and strong potential.
Participants gain: a structured validation process and framework, insights from regional experts, recognition in the professional community, and motivation to further environmental hygiene.
Yes. All submissions will be handled with strict confidentiality and used solely for evaluation purposes within the programme.
